Kade Ruotolo becomes the youngest ever ADCC Champion; 100 ending rate.
Kade Ruotolo put his name ever in the ADCC history books in his 2022 ADCC crusade, collecting a gold order in the 77 kg division and getting the youthful champion in ADCC history.
Ruotolo, 19, submitted each four of his opponents on the way to his title. He scored armbar palms over Lachlan Giles and PJ Barch, and leg cinch palms over Roberto Jimenez and Mica Galvao.
The first black belt to submit Galvao.
Galvao was also on track to come the youthful ADCC champion. Had he defeated Ruotolo, he’d have set the record.
Kade Ruotolo’s binary family, Tye Ruotolo, also holds an ADCC age record; he’s the youthful in history to reach the ADCC semifinals. He did it at 16 times old in 2019.
Ruotolo takes the place of former record holders Rafael Mendes and Kyra Gracie. Gracie won her first ADCC title a day before her 20th birthday, while Mendes was 20 times old when he captured his first ADCC gold. Both Mendes and Gracie were instated into the ADCC Hall of Fame this weekend.
